Landscape – Birmingham

Specifi Landscape makes its visit to Birmingham on 16th November 2017. This must-attend event for Landscape Birmingham-Central Library1Architects, Architects involved in Landscape, Civil Engineers and other landscape specifiers begins with a brilliant seminar by a world class speaker, continues with our “meet the experts” networking with a complimentary bar, before we sit down for our relaxed Specifi Dinner.


4:30pm Doors Open for Registration – tea and coffee available


5:00pm – Seminar – “The Water Sensitive City” by Gary Grant

Gary is an independent consultant ecologist with more than 35 years experience of urban nature conservation, garygrantenvironmental planning and ecological impact assessment in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. Projects have included the London Olympic Park Biodiversity Action Plan, Education City in Qatar and the winning competition entry to convert a 24km long disused railway to a cycle path in Singapore. He has an interest in green infrastructure, especially green roofs, living walls and rain gardens.

He is a Chartered Environmentalist, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, Fellow of Leeds Sustainability Institute, Director of the Green Infrastructure Consultancy, thesis tutor at the Bartlett, UCL, author of The Water Sensitive City (Wiley 2016), Ecosystem Services Come to Town: Greening Cities by Working with Nature (Wiley 2012), Green Roofs and Facades (BRE Press 2006), contributor to Climate: Design (Oro Editions 2009) and co-author of Estuary Edges: Ecological Design Guidance (Thames Estuary Partnership/ Environment Agency 2008), UK Rain Garden Guide (Reset 2012) and Landscape and Urban Design for Bats (BCT 2012).

7:45pm Specifi Dinner – Free for event attendees

As we move into the evening, we transform into the Birmingham Landscape Dinner. A relaxed affair (come as you restaurant_2999753bare) where you can chat to friends and colleagues into the evening with our hosts at Piccolino on Brindley Place.
